Katie Brown APRN, MSN, FNP-C, AGACNP-BC

Katie Brown has been a board certified nurse practitioner since 2018. A Kansas native, she obtained her Bachelors of nursing in 2012 from Newman University in Wichita, KS  and then moved to Texas to start her career at The Heart Hospital Baylor. During her time there she worked primarily in the cardiac intensive care. Later she would moonlight as a member of the ICU float team for both Baylor Scott and White and Texas Health Resources, gaining a lot of valuable experiences.

Katie obtained her Masters in Nursing and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2018 and joined Advanced Heart Care at that time. She obtained a Post Masters certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in May of 2020.

Katie has a passion for cardiac care and has devoted her career to it. She enjoys building a therapeutic relationship with her patients and helping them achieve their goals to live a healthier life. Katie enjoys teaching patients and helping them to better understand their health conditions. She believes that knowledge is empowering and is the key to patient success.

Outside of work, Katie lives a very active life. She and her husband, Alex, enjoy spending time with their daughter, Ellison ( 1), traveling, spending time with family or friends and being outdoors. Katie enjoys reading, exercising or volunteering in her spare time. She is currently a volunteer nurse practitioner with First Refuge Ministries based in Denton, TX.

Katie works full time for Advanced Heart Care and serves patients in multiple offices including Plano, Decatur, Denison(Sherman) and Sulphur Springs. She is licensed as a nurse practitioner in both Texas and Oklahoma. She is board certified with the ANCC and AANP.
