Dr. Jeffrey Gladden formed Advanced Heart Care (AHC) in 1997 after practicing several years at a mid-sized group in Dallas. He sought autonomy and flexibility, but also the collegiality of a smaller group.

AHC now consists of 10 interventional cardiologists, 3 electrophysiologist, as well as 5 nurse practitioners. AHC is currently recruiting an additional interventional cardiologist and another electrophysiologist.

AHC’s primary focus has been to build outreach practices in rural markets surrounding the DFW area. By focusing on outlying areas AHC has positioned itself in underserved markets with a greater prevalence of heart disease thus building one of the busiest and most productive practices in the state. AHC is a dynamic group with interests beyond the busy clinical practice. Some specifics about AHC and their clinic locations:

  • 10 Clinic Locations (5 full-time, 6 part-time)
  • 4 Nuclear Cameras
  • 5 Echo/Stress Echo Machines (capable of peripheral vascular imaging as well)
  • 6 Hospital Affiliations

AHC was a principal contributor in the founding and joint-ownership of The Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano (THHBP). THHBP is a $100mm, state-of-the-art facility dedicated solely to hearts. It is co-owned by Baylor Health Systems and area cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons. Dr. Gladden was one of two founders of THHBP and his leadership was paramount in the four-year project. THHBP is in the top 1% in patient satisfaction and favorable outcomes.

Beyond THHBP, AHC helps develop heart programs and cath labs for smaller hospital systems in outlying markets. Currently, AHC is part of a joint-venture with Baylor-affiliated Wise Regional Health System in Wise County and manages the two cath labs located within the hospital. AHC helped open the first out-patient, diagnostic-only lab in Wise County in 2001 and has since helped the hospital progress into peripheral vascular procedures, device implantation, and interventions as well as an open-heart program. STEMI and hypothermia regional referrals have also been developed.

In addition, AHC has developed a full a full-time CV program at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital that provides diagnostic and interventional cath procedures. We have recently begun a STEMI and hypothermia program for the hospital.

We are currently recruiting an interventional cardiologist to help build a similar program in Sulphur Springs, Texas (80 miles East of Dallas). This will be a partnership with Baylor-affiliated Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. AHC will owns and manages a new cardiac cath lab within Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

The physician willing to work in Sulphur Springs will have ownership opportunity with this project. In addition to the cath lab projects, AHC also owns and operates an additional nuclear camera within Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
